I support expansion of opportunities for legal immigration into the U.S. for those people who wish to bring their skills and talents to our country, learn our country’s laws and history, and become Americans in every sense of that word.

I support enforcement of our existing federal laws to discourage illegal immigration, and would sponsor and support a bill in the Michigan legislature to mirror what has been done in Arizona to provide our state police officers with the tools needed to better control illegal immigration in Michigan.

I also support effective border security, including continuing boat patrols along Michigan’s international boundary and maintaining post 9/11/2001 border security activities at our international crossing points, airports, and ports on the Great Lakes.
